Turns out I have three of them.
Turns out that was probably a factor in Jack's in-utero stroke.
As it was explained to me they are not uncommon, about 3% of people have any one of them. It's just that each one is a building block of a stroke. Other "building blocks" include pregnancy, fever, trauma, dehydration, etc.
So, without going into too much more detail it is not recommended that we pursue having more children until I see a MFM or Perinatal Doctor. Thankfully there are relatively easy (I think) treatment options that can be put into place before pregnancy to "ensure" a health pregnancy for mommy and baby.
We had the high hopes of walking into her office on Tuesday and listening to her say, "You're totally fine, go. Be fruitful and multiply!" However, that was not the case. There were some quick tears and moments of sadness, but we are so incredibly hopeful. This isn't cancer or some other catastrophic disease.
God often allows difficult and sometimes painful circumstances in our life to make us rely on Him and build character. "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love." (Romans 5: 3-5)
Right now we are waiting for a referral to see a Perinatologist. Until then, life continues as normal.
As far as Jack, he's doing just fantastic. He's shown great improvement over the last year and it's only going to get better. We are so thankful for that precocious kid. The only recommendation from the geneticist for him is a MRI at age three to show any changes in the brain.

We will be praying for you, Jack, and Derek in this time of waiting for a referral and moving forward. Thank goodness for Jack's health and sweet self, what a blessing he is!
